Fear

Contributed by jay187_ on Thursday, 24th October 2013 @ 12:20:47 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Far enough to barely be sighted, close enough to be completely felt
That unwanted lingering presence there that can't be helped
Pathetic attempts to halt your persistent pursuit
Fleeing, ducking, hiding, as you proceed; denying a period of regroup

Amusing it is to think you can be overcome
Outrageous is the thought that you can be eluded from
Courageous is it to look you in the face and not be overcome
Arguably impressive, hardly ignorant nor dumb

Always odds-on favorite, you possess no measurable weakness
You aren't posed a measurable threat because of your defense
Your greatest strength are the victims preyed upon
Your expertise is second to none, this considered fun?

The epitome of discouragement that is what you are
Your lack of sympathy surpasses bizarre
A black hole to confidence and a dimness to a star
The black paint to the luminous art, the taint to the bravest heart

Well you clearly have a gift for the written word and you have used it well here.
Impressive piece, very powerful.
I look forward to many more.

Steve

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
