Are we?

Through frosted glass, from barren quarters,
Glacial mirrors denying your reflection.
A distinguished class of eerie nocturnals
Sordid creatures offered mere deflections.
Crackling of firewood, glistening body heat.
I in plain sight for you to devour
Only if I could admit defeat,
Yet no, I cannot cower.
Blindness, distasteful blindness,
Flighty coexistence
Madness this is truly madness
I Another victim of circumstance.
Unhinged are those we often cannot see
Underneath the neon moonlight they lie.
Deranged, emotionless are we?
Despite it all, I do not agree with our last goodbye.
