Who is Cinderella?
A misplaced daughter.
Why does she exist?
For the twisted pleasure of her ugly sisters!
How do I know she exists?
She was born a healthy normal little baby girl.
Why is her name Cinderella?
Because she is beautiful.
How can something so right always do something so wrong?
Because they shout it at her day in day out.
Why are her mother and grandmother so ugly?
Because she bears the brunt of their malice and
Still survives.
Why is this fairy tale true?
Because with each of their words they destroy her.
Who or what is she in their world?
A verbal hitting stick.
Who or what are they in her world?
What she is used to?
Who and what are they in our world?
Damaged.
And who or what are we in this world?
To have let this
Happen.

Yes, yes indeed. Especially the last bit casually hidden from public conscience, the fairy tale writer knows why...
Great piece! Excellent and yet simple as can be!
Peace! |

This is one giant metaphor!
We, as a world, cannot control it.
We, who are associated with Cinderella & family, are spineless if we just let it continue.
This was really intense and I could sooooooooo feel that intensity!
I applaud thee! |

Hi Anna,
Quite deft the way you used the old story of
Cinderalla to bring attention to so much
suffering and wrong that is constantly being
ignored and neglected, in our times.

this is perfectly penned, i'm so impressed with your
take on this character, who is no longer a simple
character to me anymore, you are absolutely right,
why would the collective world of humans let this
happen to a young girl? ...yet so many close eyes to
so much.......
hugs n' love nessa |
