When I die, I want to be burned until I turn into a pile of ashes.
And then I want my ashes to be put into a snow globe.
And I want that snow globe to be given to children.
And when those children ask what's inside, I want for you to tell them it's a dead woman.
And when they scream and drop it, and I am spread all over the ground, I want for you to scoop my remains up, and put me into another snow globe.
And I want you to repeat this process for the rest of your life after I am gone.

Can't describe without a lot of pictures and many paragraph's filled with boring words, that would include a lot of research into my own past, how brilliant this poem is. Reminds me of my mother, any young child's fascination with snow globes, a gift worth more than any other, at least at the time, and then forgetting all about it, until it's too late.
This is one of the best poems I've read here or anywhere in a long time.
Beautiful writing!
Peace! |
