The Sun rises like a King
He mounts his throne and
Gazes upon his kingdom.
The Earth raises her head
And bows back down.
She dances for his pleasure
Around and around
Spinning and dancing to her music.
Then he retires and
As soon as he is gone
His children come out to play
They are watched by their
Caring attentive mother.
She is garbed in beauteous
Robes of grey and silver
But this beauty is not all
Hers for she reflects
The glory of her King.
Her children are like energetic kittens
As they frolic under her gaze
They spin about
They dance to the music.
“On to bed.”
She calls as the King
Raises his radiant head
He is like a glorious God
Who must be obeyed.
They race and fade away
Like rays of light fleeing
From a storm
The King mounts his throne
And it begins again.
