It's been a year since you left us,
and everyday seems to get a bit longer.
The baby will be a year old soon,
she is growing healthy, bigger and stronger.

In many ways she reminds me of you,
her eyes, her ears and that smile.
She is such a beautiful little girl,
so smart and her temper is mild.

I wish that she could know you,
and love you the way that I have.
I try to tell her everything about you,
but the memories leave me so sad.

I tend to sit and wonder,
why God had to take you so soon.
It hurts me to know that Dakota,
will never get the chance to love you too.

As strange as this may sound I'm sure she will know him as well as you did. I know the pain will never go away. Thank you for sharing the beauty of the love you have!
