Anguish Crushes Me

anguished

I feel a darkness growing inside me.
And a light that tries to fight it.
I feel sorrow building in my gut.
And a joy that tries to kill it.
I have so many things in this world.
But I feel like I have nothing.
I am angry, and disgusted
I perish more each day because of this
All I want is a way out
But there is no escape from this place
Only a place to hide, where I remain afraid
I fight with my own actions
I run from my own thoughts
I have no value to anyone
Not even myself.
So I try to build up a tolerance
of myself and those around me
But it just continues to make me grow more angry
And I don't know how to fight it anymore.
So I remain here, inside
Trapped beneath this pile of anguish
Struggling just to breathe
and keep myself alive in this place.
