I bow my head in shame.
For only I am to blame.
Father forgive my sinful ways.
I've allowed them to lead me astray.
That a child should open my eyes.
And seek to purify my life.
I ask myself where did I go wrong?
Why could I not be strong?
How could I turn off the righteous path.
Now it is I that shall feel the wrath.
How often have I ignored the plight of others.
Forgetting they are my brothers.
So many blessings you give me.
But in asking for more I complain I see.
Shame fills my heart.
I don't allow you to be part.
Or guide me in this world.
I don't know when last I read your word.
When last have I been on my knees.
When last have I said God please.
And not please for something new.
But rather please what can I do?
To take Your word.
To those who have not yet heard.
Spare me not thy wrath.
Guide me back to the righteous path.

Hi Russell. A fine prayer, my friend. Shame is a good thing, Russell. It's the beginning of humility and acceptance. Without shame, no forward progress can be achieved. Your questions of "why this, why that" are crucial for enlightenment. One could spend an agonizing amount of time asking "WHY?" As your heart and mind evolve (and said evolving only happens through regrets), I hope you come to realize that 'why' is less important than embracing right thought and right action right now. The NOW is what is of value. Russell, if you accumulate a big ole' pile of quality 'nows', then your questions of 'why' will become irrelevant. I salute you in your growth.
Blessings,
Invierno |
