- I, The Sufferer -
How far will i bend
before i finally break?
I've been waiting for the day
When i dream and never wake.
It's a sad thought,
because life is a gift.
But I've been dealt a hand
That i no longer wish to lift.
How far will i stretch
before the fibers tear?
I've been pulled apart,
Stabbed in the heart,
Trapped in my thoughts, ensnared.
And if i make a mistake
It wouldn't be the first
Betwixt these thoughts,
These treacherous woes,
I finally quench my thirst.
My thirst to end the suffering.

Deep poem. You have done a nice job writing this . Life can be a bad deal ,no doubt about it and suffering is all we have been guaranteed along with death. Anything other than these is a blessing from God. All good things come from God. Nice poem. |

Loved the line
"But I've been dealt a hand
That I no longer wish to lift"
You've reminded me here that some people just breeze through life, while others tread a rocky road.
