Harsh truths

We wrote the harsh words like truth,
a headline, prime, the breaking news.
We send out a camera and took a shot,
for the website, Facebook, it will be up.

Unfamiliar faces, a name echoes through,
friends and family, the times seemed good.
In our newsfeed; just a dead and a cause,
we didn't feel the pain, didn't know the loss.

A table set for all minus one.
An empty chair in next years class.
We wrote the harsh words like truth,
some stern sentences, what else to do?
