Can I change the skin i'm in?
If I'm slightly thick or thin
Will you love me less or more
Or send me packing out the door
Perfect body perfect mind
Perfect rapture love sublime
Are you happy and well taught
Satisfied with what you bought
Human flaws apon your skin
Doesn't matter our love's within

I do love this verse, mostly because it portrays my own thought, And the changes that interplay ones physical body, with whom they maybe don't really understand to be thy own self, at any given age. I was skinny before I was a fat kid, I was fat before I was skinny later on in life once again.
Fast, slow, nimble, quick... moving to and fro from day to day and for what real purpose in the end, is it only skin, or is it deeper? It is so much deeper --- wonderful poem.
Keep up the great writing! This is perfectly concise and yet full of true wisdom! The title is perfecto!
Peace! |
