The Power of Anonymity

Contributed by northernlights on Friday, 16th August 2013 @ 03:46:50 AM in AEST
Topic: poets

An unnamed
Canvass?
An identity removed!
Words from the font of an unknown voice,
a faceless narrator.
The reader rendered to visual blindness.
No hook to hang a coat of prejudice,
no tea parties of familiarity,
or donning ones hat of mutual respectability.
Just eyes on a voice.
Just ears to hear,
A more open heart to accept?
No forensics as to where shoes have trod
and from which they are made.
No tailor made decisions of apparel,
no boxes for political persuasion,
no preconceived ideas,
no suitcase of grudges,
An ego disengaged?
The flaws of the recognition of style
in a pool of anonymity
may burst this perfect bubble
of the thoughts and wonderings
of the possibility of a
pure comment.

Once again you have come up trumps with this write.
You have this whole site down to a tee!! and have captured, for me, the spirit of the site and why we are all here. We are all equal here, we all have the right to be here to express ourselves with no barriers.
Great work yet again!!

Steve

What marvelous expressions you coin! I love "words from the font of an unknown voice"!
The playing field is leveled by your artistic persistence. I hope you find your pure comment!

I've seen egos on some that need to be disengaged and then disassembled! ;-)

Quite an editorial you have here...expertly worded.

Hi Anna,

We are the ''Little people,'' anonymous to the
core, afraid to share our apathy with others
lest we compound our misery by recognising
that they are apathetic too. So we bow, we
hide, we are individual and ineffectual.
The stuff that Governmental dreams are made
of.

Perhaps not quite as articulate as you have
crafted in this thought-provoking piece, but
this is what I gleaned from your words.

Tommy
