Emitting cruel words from a cruel mouth (I'm sorry)
I punished myself like I knew I would
Bestest friend I ever had
Yeah, I guess I blew that one (I'm sorry)
The things I've sad behind your back (I'm sorry)
The things I regret the most, other than the things I've said to you myself.
Don't worry, I will be fine
You're not the only thing I gave up on (I'm sorry)
But I guess I just couldn't handle it (I'm sorry)
Knowing you cared so much made me realize
That I needed to leave you,
So you could care more about yourself.
I knew I couldn't do it though,
I couldn't live my life without you.
Everything you've done for me
Made me realize how stupid the things I've said were (I'm sorry)
I've never said thank-you,
But I'm grateful
I've been so closed minded,
Well I guess this isn't a poem (I'm sorry)
Maybe it's a letter,
A letter to you
A letter to you, Charlotte
But it's too late now, you probably hate me (I'm sorry)
Maybe now is a good time to mention
I haven't said a bad word about you since.
You made me realize that you really did care,
You were the only person who would ever be there,
I've been so selfish, always expecting you to help, (I'm sorry)
Even though I knew you had your own life.
But now I know you've always been there, you see
From now on I will be there for you as much as you have for me.
I don't know if you will ever read this,
If you do it may be months after it was written.
But I still mean every word of it
And it puts my mind at ease.
Maybe you think this is stupid and pathetic,
Over a few words spoken behind your back or to you over facebook...
But I thought this necessary because I feel so bad,
And if you have read this and still understand, I'll be glad.
I wish I had never made you worry or care about me,
I'll end up hurting you, Like I apparently have done before.
I know you're thinking, "This is a waste of time."
I only wrote this to see if you'd stick with me after everything.
I've been such a fool, I don't deserve you as a friend.
I wish I were better at recovering, better at poetry, better at...

There is a saying that "sorry is the hardest word to say", so I guess you are good at saying the hardest words!!
It takes a lot to admit when you are wrong, so bravo for that.
As for being better at things, maybe you are being too self critical as we all do from time to time. We should all remember we are what we are and if people don't like that then it is their fault not ours!!
