i had a dream i was with my master
whose goal it was to lead me into hell
he led me down to the seventh level of hell,
where the violent people gnashed their teeth.
we passed the men who killed and the women who poisoned.
i clung to my Master's side, afraid of these tortured people
he pointed with his long finger to a shade
set apart from the others...
and i could tell that she was female...
and in so very much pain as she
cradled her arm to her chest.
go and see he commanded me...
go and see
and i went to her side and looked into her face
but she did not see me...
she was looking at her arm torn open
by her own hand so long ago
it seems now but a distant memory
and i looked into those brown eyes so akin to my own
and realized with a silent scream that she was me
shaking, screaming, sobbing i ran back to my master
and clutched my fingers in the fabrics of his gown
he said my child there is hope for you yet
stay away from the knife and the razor
for you are loved in heaven
and your place is there...
i woke so drained, confused
the scars on my wrist and legs glowed as if to remind me
where i am and where i could be...
