Grace Alone

That day Duke Morley came to hurting knight
for answers why and by what means drunk made
him so,and names of people he could smite
now quickly by his England's steelish blade.
Stephanus Marcus gave him names and laid
before him scene of Rags Shaqui's hot flame.
Thus Morley knew Moslems' temptation played
its scheme to lay Crusaders low to shame.
It seemed that grace alone kept knight from moral blame.
