My ''Malarious'' Mind

Contributed by femyed on Tuesday, 30th July 2013 @ 07:09:01 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

Gosh!
That mosquito bite Some nights ago
The fragile demon of the tropics
So frail innocence camouflage
Greatest killer in human race
Killed it, I thought that was all

Spanked my neck the blood splashed
So happy a sweet revenge
Forgetting its peculiar legacy
Malaria with plasmodia
Coartem the remedy
Novartis our lifeline

Now my body reminds me
Like it's acting a restless script
Exhausted yet filled with pains
analgesics only numbing my appetite
My joints so stiff like the synovial is dry
Body so hot, like a kiln of flesh

My brains sleep, with my heart awake.
My body so light
Only carrying those heavy balls called eyes
Through the agony
My mind wanders
Pacing through my lifetime--
The past, the present.

Peeping into a brighter future
So vivid the big picture
Images so clear
Scores of megapixels
My heart tip-toes
Serenity of the show it upholds

Imaginations so wide
The screen in 5-D
Like rolls of moving pictures
Perfect sequence so awesome
The show so breathtaking

Suddenly a sharp pain I felt,
Whispering words to my thick skull
"The most important is now".
I need sleep to close these eyelids
Like the curtains on a cinema stage
So I don't sleep when tomorrow becomes now.

You take the reader into a world of unknown angst. I liked how you tell the tale and let the reader become a part of the story. Very nice write - very intense and you bring reality to life. P

Hi There.

Are you from Africa or did you just visit? 1st a word of advise to those who don't know Malaria. Its not good to take Malaria tabs before going into an infected area. The tabs mask the parasite when blood tests are done. 2nd drink Tonic water every day at least 500ml's per day. Tonic water contains Quinine the base chemical that is used to kill the Malaria parasite. I have been travelling in and about Africa and never contracted Malaria. Now for you poem. Very good write it gives the reader some insight into what can be expected when contracting Malaria. Also like the slight humerus touch you give the poem. Again. Very good write.

Greetings
Rus
