How did I know the lights would go out
How was I supposed to figure the whole damn thing out
When there was nothing in my head
When all I sought was infinity in bed.
Someone once said something I’d love to share.
At least I did but I wonder if she thinks i care.
I was always trying to say the right thing.
How could I get turned from this path
How far I’d strayed to be the burden of this wrath
When I felt this was so unfair
When I felt I’d had more than my fair share
Someone out there sent love and said she cared
I was always trying to say the right thing
Trying to say the right thing
Couldn’t say the right thing right.
