So that I will not love
I will pour from my heart all of the seas of the stars that sail above the sky
I will smother all of the fires of the sun that shimmer on the sea
I will cast from my eyes the summer mists that unfurl at a new dawn

So that I will not love
I will dream the spires of the mountains crumbled into dust
I will see the canyons flooded
I will hear the thunders of all the storms of the sky muted

So that I will not love
I will speak the triumph of your lips at the first taste of wine a travesty
I will burn the standards of your name so that they are less than dust
I will write your hands the broken stones of war unrelenting, dashed out

So that I will not love
I will not live
