oops
|
At night on the news
Reporting a terrible attack
Human shredded into predators meal
A stalking mountains lion snack
People are fearful
In horror and shock
Alas they are unable to see
Mortals are part of the food chain
But would certainly rather not be
In the oceans we are no different
Than the silver fish or the black seal
The shark sees simply protein
Consuming us as a small appetizer
Not a drop of pity do they feel
But man is the only creature
Taking life for sport and pleasure
Killing with no conscience
Simply because he can
Will murder at his leisure
So if we are chewed and swallowed up
It is the price
We must pay
Being a part of the food chain
We are on the menu everyday
