Daddy I Just Want To Say!...

11:07:2013....

Daddy I Just Want To Say!...

I can't believe it's twenty year.
Some days I still fight back my tears.
Other times I just let them flow.
They fall down and melt the snow.
I will never forget that morn'.
It was just before dawn.
When I got the call.
I collapsed and sank down against the wall.
The voice on the other side said your Father is dead!
Was I hearing things in my head?
No it was true.
God came to fetch you.
Daddy I just want to say.
Your the best till this day.
Never could I ask for a better father.
As a child you were my armor.
No one could harm me.
To that you did see.
Even when I was much much older.
I could still come cry on your shoulder.
You taught me to fix a car.
And how important it was to open a jar.
And when I brought home my first motorcycle.
I thought you would be hysterical.
Instead you took it for a spin.
Grate bike and tapped me on the chin.
You were a father that allowed me to grow.
And your love you would always show.
I learned from you how to be a man.
And sometimes in love reach out my hand.
Sometimes you would be strict.
But I never felt as if i was kicked.
You showed me what is respect.
And never anyone must I reject.
You showed me how to pray.
And always Thank You God I must say.
The way you loved my mother.
Showed me a man must want none other.
You are my father and I am your child.
That's why whenever I saw you I smiled.
I remember the times we went fishing.
Those thoughts leave me wishing.
That just maybe one day.
A myricyl would happen and you would come back to stay.
Yes you had your flaws.
But that would never close my hearts doors.
There's no doubt in my mind.
I still love and respect you after all this time.
I know your with our Father in the sky.
And this makes me happy I should not cry.
But still after twenty years.
I sometimes have to fight back the tears.

I love you Daddy.
You are still my HERO!

A wonderful homage, boet.

Gettin close to chokey here, except I never had a Dad, but oh well, what the hell, I toss it in the mental tussle;
at least I can relate a bit, thanks to my good friend Russell.
