Empyrean vault

Standing above a canyon
A full belly of echoing battle cries
Oh, but I'll walk the edge like death’s best companion
No blighting dread, but a consuming abandon
Oh, no, this canyon won’t eat me alive.
There’s a song on the ravine walls
Resounding and sinking right down to my bones
It rings out from the chasms and calls
From the mouths of birds: “Oh, see me be free,
Skimming cloud towers of heights unknown.”
Oh, no, I won’t fall like so many stones
I won’t be lost along the river curves
I’ll let the sky swallow me whole,
From pounding feet and pulsing nerves
Into an empyrean vault all my own
Oh, I’ll leave this edge behind
Still singing this song of mine

I am so very sorry for your loss.
This poem is a beautiful write touched with sadness and tender mercy, I felt you here. Lots of images touched this.
Hugs
