Waking through doors into empty rooms with halls that lead to nowhere
Peering across expansive oceans as the tides ascend and then crash at my feet
Surrounded on all sides
Pressured by the eventual divide
The walls are closing in
As the water fills the tank
Gasping for air
I have only myself to thank
Pointless is the effort exerted on someone who would only eventually come to see the truth
That I am nothing more than the dirt beneath her shoes
The lies will be revealed
A facade will be unmasked
Disgust will set in
I will be left
Less than half a man
More than she ever asked
Worrying now about her response
When the cards are in the table
And there is not one more ounce
Of honesty to give
Of warning to heed
Advice is fleeting
In our time of need
Maybe her attraction
Her desire to feel me
Will outweigh the instinct to flee
Her craving my body
Will send her down to her knees
Please me
I want to hear myself breathe
In these empty rooms with tightening walls the doors are now locked from the outside
I am stuck
Minutes left to inhale
The water enters my lungs
I cough
I pray
I close my eyes
Drown away
Dream of a better place
The fires of Hell await
