Some one to Catch Us When We Fall

Contributed by Archie on Wednesday, 5th June 2013 @ 02:32:12 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

This is a write from last year. I won't go into all the details except to say that if you struggle with depression there is help for you if you ask. Take it from me, dark thoughts can lead you down a path that is hard to return from with out friends and prayer. I thought I was alone only to find that my friends did not know I needed their help until it was almost too late.

In this world massively alone
We wonder who will hear us when we call
Our burdens and mistakes we cannot atone
We need someone to catch us when we fall

Money cannot cure our disease
It only adds unto our flaw
An incurable ache we grieve
An answer we need and yet we stall

We choose what we think is best for us
And in those things we pour our tears
But soon those things frustrate us
They cannot overcome our fears

Even those who say they care for us
Show by isolating feats
And empty pews on each side of us
That they care not for our needs

What longing do they really have
Only those that they hold dear
And those who are forsaken left
Alone they cry with broken tears

Battles fought no one will see
Scars in them that will not heal
Love that is to never be
Hearts that cannot be for real

In front of people we forestall
And yet it’s shown by how we feel
When doors of night enclose our walls
Longing hearts cannot be healed

And in this plight that longs for death
A place we cover with thick walls
Knowing in our deepest hearts
No one will catch us when we fall
. . .
And dreams of ages fore and past
Movies we watch within our homes
Hoping that we too might have
Someone in love to give us hope

To share the dreams we have in us
To have pews filled in on both sides
To give someone our deepest hearts
And in sharing to trust abide

For we are but weak creatures small
Trapped by folly and our flaws
Hoping when we stumble great
Someone will catch us when we fall

The dark stands ready to grab what the light cannot catch. Your write brought forth the feelings of lonliness and heartache that often takes us from our soul. It so touched the place I keep hidden away. Tears were not far way. Great write - thank you for sharing, P

Bravo. I like that the title is reflective of the poem and itarticulates that specific feeling. Beautifully written and I particularly like the movie analogy

this is such a beautifully written poem, from the
heart and soul, holding it all in; knowing one
needs to reach out or be reached out to, holding
our breath, the sigh of relief when we are caught,

hugs and love nessa

Wonderful, gut-wrenching stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed this emotive piece. I'm glad you were able to write about it. I'm sure it helped, at least I hope it did.
