FROM A HERO

Contributed by katieliz on Wednesday, 29th May 2013 @ 08:06:46 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

as i walked down the street
one sunny afternoon
a car hutled towards me
had i met my doom
it crashed into my body and
threw me to the groud
where are my army buddies
none of them around
the man came towards me
as i lay on the floor
his eyes were wild his hands
lashed out my body felt so sore
here i am on londons street
not in afghanistan
my life is ebbing from me
this is not the plan
the military told me
to keep britain safe
i had to go to foreign lands
to keep britain from the straife
now i am gone and looking down
on my homeland from afar
i question why they sent me there
and why so far?
i pledged my alegiance
to queen and country so
should it not be their time
to let everyone know
i have not died in vain
on this woolwich street
the country that i love
which says no defeat
so comon boys rally round
let me be the last
to die on britains streets
remember our glorious past
i love my queen i fought for her
and proudly did it so
please let my death not be in vain
cmon boys put on a show.
