Little Robin Magpie
Little Robin Magpie rouse
me from my somnolent nap
with her soothe soft gentle song,
her point embedded - a garland
of precious gems.
I gazed her sing along with joyous
sparkling small button-eyes;
“I’m a mother now, babies so divine, we
shall do fine, though this day perhaps not mine!
Stormy weather, food to gather, me a mother
shall shelter my babies with my tiny feathers -
humans I gather kill babies for selfish pleasure?
Call “abortion”; that takes away mother’s moment
of proud emotion!”
Heart shrank with shame, for I know it’s God forbidden
“legalized” game, for shoddy immoral fame and gain!
