Another hard song bites the dust
On raw promises that never saw daylight
Certain lives call for nerves of steel
So some get ratted by ignorance faked

Summing it all on the dance of incomprehension
On hurts that didn’t quite come convenient
The facts get bartered as always
Always for the world and its democratic ways

Lives scatter, culled by silken threads
No space for truth or once cherished values
When life sometimes demands her pound of flesh
Reason quickly retreats under the cover of convention
