Angelic demise

I watched an angel die
I watched its light fade out
It's wings turn to ash and crumble to dust
The white fades out to gray
And as I watched this angel die, I seen him shed a tear
A tear for me, my misery
I knew then that my soul had died
For those who witness the angels demise have been extinguished with the light
I lost my angel
And in the pile of ashes and stone I saw a reflection of you
Taunting me
Now any time I must reflect its you who looks back at me
The constant reminder of all that I've lost, and of the angel
My sick attempt at sanity through the madness left in the angels wake
I keep the ashes and the stone in the place where my heart used to be
And there your reflection stays
I could tear out my eyes but could never unsee
I could tear out my tongue but can't drown out my screams
The ashes they live deep inside me
And so I'll never end my suffering
For my angel still has its hold on me
