Old Bones and me,
we keep good company.
We’ve had so much
of life and such.
We’ve helped each other now and then
and been true friends through thick and thin.
Old Bones and me,
we’ve been what there’s to be.
We’ve done a lot
with what we’ve got
and lived life with such joy and pain
we know we’d do the same again.
Old Bones and me,
we’ve seen what there’s to see.
Many a day
we’ve toiled away.
But evening came when work was done
and brought for us great times of play.
Old bones and me,
aren’t what we used to be.
The flesh is weak,
the joints all squeak.
So now as I gaze back in time,
I’ll rest these poor Old Bones, of mine.
