You left, you're gone.
Will you return?
My eyes blaze when I think of you
But pain replaces the burn.
I'm so lost, so stranded.
So caught up in it all.
This fight was never mine
My hurt echoes through these halls.
Was it easy?
To pack and leave?
Or were you ready
To put away the memories?
Though my heart is hollow
I know you're breaking
You never were a child
And that was not theirs for taking.
But why can't I be worth it?
Why is he the best?
That cut me most of all
You think I'm hopeless.
I will forgive, I always do
Forgetting is another story.
You left me in my time of need
And he'll get all the glory.
When the day comes
And I have a child of my own
I will love her, I will guard her
And never let her feel alone.
She will not punish herself
For things she cannot fix
She won't be under pressure
To be perfect.
And lastly I hope that
She'll never stand where I have stood
beneath her brother
No. My girl will have a childhood.

I can relate to this poem. Poetry gives us a way to vent our feelings without doing things we would regret. I like that part about forgiveness. |

Wow, I don't know how old or young you are but no matter what this is heart wrenching to me. I can't comprehend how a mother can do that. P>M> me if you need a friend.
Huggs, blessings, prayer,
emy

this is amazing, in the simplicity of your words lies this great depth, from your pain came this great poem.
i hope we all learn to treat issues from the way we feel about them.
thanks for sharing this brilliance.
keep penning, that's how best to tell what the heart bears. |
