Too late

Contributed by davemus on Friday, 10th May 2013 @ 03:30:11 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

If I had just been honest
and told you how I felt
I would have never tried so hard
to act as if I didn't care.
And even if you didn't feel
the same way that I did,
you'd still have known that right or wrong
I had a craving deep inside.
that kept you always in my thoughts
and made me love you more each day.

So many times I wanted
to say it right out loud . . .
to step out of my shadow world
and free my feelings from their bonds.
But then there came that awful time
when my choice was removed
and you were taken from us all,
so suddenly and far to soon.
I stood in tears with all the rest
as you climbed to a higher plane.

So now you know my story.
It isn't much to tell . . .
The simple love so of just one soul
that could and should have been revealed.
And if you're now at some sweet place
where you can hear my thoughts,
then you will know that even though
the days still pass, the world still turns,
it would have been so much, much more,
If I had just declared my love.

You let the reader feel your emotions within each word you write. You take us to many places, show so many open windows, and let the reader feel what they must feel from your words. Very very very nice write. thank you for sharing, P

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
