Two Sides of love

Contributed by davemus on Thursday, 9th May 2013 @ 01:17:11 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

When life is only barren waste
And emptiness fills every plate
When satisfaction’s lost its taste
And lonely clamors at the gate
When mind and heart feel almost dead
From sharpened shards of bitterness
Then love comes in with quiet tread
And offers newfound joy and bliss

When love comes in, it’s simply there
It softly enters waiting lives
That hunger for it everywhere
And welcomed by them, grows and thrives
But love can wear another face
A clever and deceptive smile
That masks the truth with fast embrace
And stays for just a little while

Although it seems salvation’s near
As pain and hurt ebb fast away
The injured heart with vision clear
Must look beyond the present day
A moment’s pleasure salves the pain
That follows sorrow close behind
An hour’s sunlight dries the rain
And warms a harried, troubled mind

Love shouldn’t be approached in fear
Remember though, a reckless heart
When faced with bitter parting tears
Can easily be torn apart
But when it brings that rosy glow
That lets you know it’s what it seems
Then love comes in and will bestow
Gifts far beyond your wildest dreams.

A Clear relateable warning contained in a beautifully flowing write.
