“I love you”, slips from off my lips,
Unconsciously my secret slips,
As heart and breath become quite still,
This frozen moment saps my will.
And in the silence doubt does grow,
As hope denies the fear I know,
Emotional chaos seethes within,
And I feel my love is just a sin.
Yet every thought is one of you,
And no one else will ever do,
‘Cause only you can make me feel,
This lonely world is something real.
What would I do if you denied,
All I’ve felt for you inside,
And can I live while my dreams die,
Knowing that I’ve lived a lie?
But as I look into your eyes,
The truth’s revealed and my heart cries,
As lips of velvet start to speak,
A tear falls gently down my cheek.
