Young Hearts Are Strong

I know that you feel your heart breaking,
I know that you hurt everywhere.
Just remember young hearts are stronger,
I know you think life is not fair.

I just wish he had got to know you,
But then, this would hurt much worse.
I just wish he knew what he missed out on,
Beautiful and smart to the core.

He might not have been your father,
But he was the only dad you knew.
The pain will get easier little by little,
For ma and papa it will, too.

I wish I could understand what changed him,
What could have made him so mad.
Was it her a coming, or me leaving,
I knew that for you it is sad.

You will feel many more broken hearts,
Keep your heart young as long as you may.
Because young hearts are stronger hearts,
But baby it will get easier day to day.
