Traitorous tears
Steal down my
face
while locked in misery's
cold embrace
A statue
of stone with
angel wings
watches over
with a melody
that sings
Looking toward the
Sky
Waiting for the freedom to
Fly
An unannounced visitor
beckons his call
with a strike
the dead start to
fall
Feeling time's race undone
and a tiny fear
for the winner's last run.
