The world is laughing at our lack of shame,
my wounds are burning like a cigarette.
If ashes are all that’s left of this,
why do we dance through flames like silhouettes? (shouted)
We’re on and off - the wall, the floor, the innerspring,
your Velcro love; detached - so what? You’re under me.
And all tied up, with ribbons, lace, and bows.
My hands still burn at the stake,
that you tied my conscience on.
So I’ll lay these digits to dirt,
delete your number from my memory, come on! (shouted)
Up those stairs, your legs, they race - like vagabonds,
with outstretched arms, to shoulders – you can cry upon.
You say my name, in ways, it wasn’t meant to be said…
And I’m downtown - the lights, a slight vasectomy,
a fifth goes by, the lines – are catching up to me.
I wish this night, could last – my eyes, are glowing – red…
