She could write anything

Contributed by Jilli_bean on Thursday, 15th May 2003 @ 06:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

She could write about a tree:
The grand willow tree sits upon a thrown
It's branches wisp and bake
It's the smell of summe
and
It's the sound of fall
She could write about the ocean:
The dark blue water
wept of confusion
Pled for forgiveness
The dark blue water
Deep and shown
She could write about how much she loved her mom:
I remember when I cried
you picked me up
and
then i grew
got to big to pick up
but don't worry, I do, I still love you
She could write about times of despair:
The razor slowly slid off the dresser
in a hand it was recieved
slicing the skin
numbing the pain inside
She could write about times of joy:
Through Countless hours of devotion
they walked through the halls
hand in hand
Finally
they had graduated
family and friends all around
The ceremony was finished
The foundation was complete
She could write about anything she wanted
She was good
you had togive her that
But the auther chooses the topic
the author chooses the outcome
The author had control
She likes that control
it's hers and hers alone
it's all she's known

(So if you don't like it...you write...I am sick of being told to write "happy" .I am sorry people don't like the way I am...but I am okay with that)

Woah!

That was pure venting I take it. But it kicked butt. Jillian, don't ever change because someone wants you to. You are Jillian and your real friends will like you, for you. Don't pretend to be happy and write about the birds and bees. Poetry is a form of expression. If you aren't happy, don't write happy. Simple as that.

A wise person once told me that you are only who you allow yourself to be. And for you... you allow yourself to be a writer.

Don't forget that. Those that don't like your writing, don't like you becasue that is a reflection of self. Remember this...

Amy
