Don't Call Me Cinderella

Contributed by savannah on Thursday, 15th May 2003 @ 06:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

You want to be my everything
And I think that maybe you are
But I won't have you dim my lights
Just so you can be my shining star

You're dying to be perfect
Without thinking who that is harming
But don't call me Cinderella
Just to be my prince charming

You're the most perfect gentleman
It's obvious that much is true
But I won't have you opening doors
Just so you can hurry me through

You'd walk to the end of forever
Just to bring me a piece of bliss
But don't call me Sleeping Beauty
Just so you can wake me with your kiss

You do wonderfully in protecting me
That much I happily admit
But don't cover up a puddle with your coat
Just so I won't have to walk around it

You make indescribably happy
Amazing hour after hour
But don't call me your Repunzle
Just to keep in a tower

You're the right person for me now
I no longer need to be convinced
But don't call me your fairytale princess
Just so you can be my prince
