The Devil Called Me Today

Contributed by waynster on Tuesday, 30th April 2013 @ 02:19:26 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

Today I got a phone call
it was the devil in disguise
He had nothing to say
that was very wise

I could feel his negative energy
coming through the phone
He spoke with so much anger
and a whole lot of hateful tone

I managed to maintain
as I listened to him speak
His voice made me cringe
and my nerves started to freak

My life was just threatened
he told me he is coming for me
It is a serious matter
one I cannot just let be

So I have spoken with the devil
and expect him to soon be around
Trying to get at me
he will only look like a clown

I have certain strength
and will stand my ground
I will not be afraid
from his negative or hateful sound

Devil, you can scare others
but you have chosen the wrong one today
You might want to change your mind
as I am ready to come out and play

You can try to win this battle
but to win you will not do
I am on the right path
a better one than you

So devil don’t bother calling
I have nothing more to you to say
You have lost this fight
just go and fade away.

Actually, I like how this would apply more-so to a less-than pleasant person than I do to the Devil himself. Be it an unloving or unaccepting family member, or an enemy of our past.
