You Cannot Make Me Despair

You Cannot Make Me Despair

Never is just as long as forever.
Forever’s a hard promise to make.
Chance the bindings may sever.
The diamonds turn out to be fake.

In time, mighty river courses wander.
In time, eternal mountains will fall.
In time, even stars are rent asunder.
In time, tiny twigs will grow tall.

Hope, dreams and love are eternal.
Feeding not from without but within.
Though you speak words so infernal.
Hope, dreams and love do not end.

I’ll watch your back as you’re leaving.
I’ll shed silent tears while you go.
But, you are the one you’re deceiving.
For today is not an ending I know.

I’ll hope for some coming tomorrow.
I’ll dream of better times I will know.
My love will endure though the sorrow.
The hurt in my soul I won’t show.

In the sunshine your smile will warm me.
On the breeze your sweet fragrance I’ll find.
In the stars your dancing eyes will delight me.
In the end I know you’ll forever be mine.

Dear Frank,
How very beautiful....Love never fails! I really enjoyed your wonderful poem. So true, so sincere are your words, and hope eternal. Because you are right, Frank, where there is love, there is always light!
Wonderful read, enjoyed it very much!
