In my loneliness sorrow
I reside each night in arm's of death
On the precipice of blackness
Icy hands
Cold breath
Retaining only a minute connection with the living
I wrap eagerly round him
Arms beckoning
As the mist surround me
Hopelessness
The woven blanket of pain
Under which we sleep
My freezing heart beat
In the arms of death

It speaks to me of emptyness - which surrounding one can sort of feel like a lover, the aloneness being so familiar. My own experience of near death was a whitening near blackout, sort of like fading away... Good poem. Thank you for sharing it!

Often in our sorrow we forget there is good in the world. Keep your head up :) good things happen to those who wait... and better things happen to those who seek to change their lives for the better. |
