The Devil's List

The Devil's List
________________

Even the most God-struck nun has ungodly habits,
but I've got none...
I've got this list of things that the Devil needs done,
so with God and shotgun,
Angel on the run.

Demon with a trigger finger, screaming from the eyes.
Murder-suicide, angels=maggots demons=flies
The Devil has the details,
God has those crazy eyes,
and the angels are left wishing Jesus was still alive.

Devil in the backseat with nothing but a grin,
watching Faithless go with God
to rustle up some sin.

God ain't slept in days, on the seventh day he'll rest.
Intravenous confession: Faithless, yes...but still blessed.

Shift eyes, pretty lies. Gotta do what your God'll do.
Yesterday asked for forgiveness for what Today was born to do.

God is up for Anything..."kill 'em all, kill em slow."
but the Devil's list ain't done,
so tomorrow....Here We Go.

I salute you in this creation. You and I share a similar style, both in writing and subject. I need to do something along these lines.....the idea has been burbling for some time- this is the push I needed to get rolling on it- thanks!

Best,

Invierno

"Yesterday asked for forgiveness for what Today was born to do."

What a cool line.
