THE TEST

Contributed by desciple on Monday, 22nd April 2013 @ 07:19:33 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I tried to tell him, but he wouldn’t listen.
I tried to comprehend.
I tried to reason with the madness.
I tried to cope with the sadness,
So we came up with a game, that we called the TEST.
Slowly we chose,
Someone eager to open up emotionally..
Fooling this soul that we were genuinely invested.
Sweet words of emotions dragged me from the pit,
That is my melancholy state of mind.
We laughed, we argued, we cried.
I told so many outrageous lies I could barely contain the laughter inside.
From awkward silences to so many hours hearing your silly little stories.
I made you believe that I was falling madly in love with you.
But no not the case, I needed the attention to fill the void.
I…we wanted you to think, that maybe I could be the one.
Endless hours wasted hearing each other breathe over pointless phone conversations.
My conscience was beginning to battle with my heart.
I knew I had to end it.
In the letter with the message that held it.
No Goodbye.
No more wondering about the call.
No more feel good emotions.
No more Good Morning Text.
As I put the letter down…it simply read towards the end,
Thank you…
For participating in THE TEST ☺

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
