life is constantly breaking
out of weak shells
reforming, reconfiguring
and adding your streak
to the pattern.
most of the things society
can't afford to encourage
I embrace excessively
I used to challenge
the burgeoning dawn
now I wake, snarl,
put the kettle on
and mechanically go
through the motions
When I open
my throats valve
and knock it back
with heavy eyes,
and a slumped posture
reaching for another tin
In these instances, I become
painfully aware of the fact
that the winds on which my spirit
surged have long since become slack

Nice. Funny part of Nihilism, it's a bit depressing when it's contemplated, but at the same time it's better than a brainwashed false happiness. |
