Just a name on their Tongue

Contributed by Lady_Daisy on Sunday, 7th April 2013 @ 07:00:43 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Nothing but falsehood was whispered in the yellow misty meadows,
The feeling of accomplishment vanished along with the hope and dignity.
The chance was ceased and is now long and forgotten,
dead like a forty year marital union.

She wanes away, a former withered dirty shadow of herself,
scrutinizing herself to gain control of the unruly.
She longs to unlock the secrets of this futile existence, and flow like the Nile.

Morning dawns her ravaged soul,
she is now a festering existence,
the hidden scars in the labyrinth of her mind can not be mended.
And now she is a name on their tongue.

This poem made me feel sad, but also made me hopeful. Hopeful that the woman in this poem will heal, and that she will gain control of her happiness once again. I know all too well what it feels like to be a shadow of your former self, and i have a soft spot in my heart for anyone who has felt that pain. "The feeling of accomplishment vanished along with the hope and dignity."

Just so. Withering was never meant to be a part of life, but it is often forced upon us. Excellence here. Thanks for posting.
