The Weight of the World

Once broken, the mind falls open, crushed by ideals
Hurled like stones at mental appeals.
Unable to maintain and sustain with meaningless words.
Moral gates, unseen, groan against the weight of the world.
Melting through the cracks, thoughts like vices grip,
Crushing consciousness with each new twist.
The narrow path, hidden as a pearl,
Strains against the weight of the world.
Silver tongues spin webs anew
Baiting traps with words deemed, "true."
Silky dreams with tendrils curled
Press down and down with the weight of the world.
Braced for impact the heart beats on,
Keeping the rhythm of times foregone
It treads the road which comes unfurled
Prepared to carry the weight of the world.
