Following in my Father's Footsteps

Contributed by northernlights on Monday, 25th March 2013 @ 03:47:27 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

Wisdom took the hand of a child

And she followed his footsteps

To the top of the world.

She learnt how small she was, and freedom breathed across her

Face, her hair danced, and her soul soared to the skies. She

Felt the ruffling of her imagination before life would give her

The wings to fly.

Bravery took her to the edge where she learnt her limits

She knew she could stand tall!

And Wisdom taught her to use his eyes to see the Kingdom

Stretched before her.

Furthur than her eyes could yet see.

And in her pocket he placed the gifts of patience and perseverance,

And gently touched her eyes with a balm of discernment.

She breathed deeply and peace and tranquillity filled her lungs

From his hand in hers she learnt the balance of strength

And gentleness.

Looking up at lofty Mountain peaks stretching to the sky

Humility entered her heart, she held tight to the feeling

Of awe and wonder, of majesty.

Then time cast a spell as belonging entered her soul and

She felt at one.
