POETRY IS LIKE A GREAT WORK OF ART,
WITH A BLANK PIECE OF CANVASS YOU MUST START,
LIKE PAINTERS DISPLAY IN LARGE MUSEUMS.
WORDS FROM YOUR HEART WILL COVER THEM.
LIKE THE GREAT PAINTER AT TIMES CAN NOT PAINT,
THE SAME WITH A POET SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO THINK.
THEN OUT OF NO WHERE NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE,
A THOUGHT BEGINS TO SPARKLE JUST LIKE A BRIGHT STAR.
LOVELY WORDS SO BEAUTIFUL BEGIN TO FILL THE PAGE,
AND EVER SO SLOWLY A GREAT POEM HAS BEEN MADE.
THEY TELL SAD STORIES AND MOST HOLD SOME TRUTH,
MANY POETS PAINT PICTURES OF LOVE AND LOST YOUTH.
I READ A LOT OF POETRY BUT AM CERTAINLY NO CRITIC,
WHAT I READ IN A POEM SOME MAY NEVER SEE IT,
BETWEEN THE LINES OF GREAT POEMS THAT I READ,
THERE LIES ANOTHER STORY KIND OF LIKE A FLOWER SEED.
POETS WRITE AS AN ARTIST PAINTS ALL DIFFERENT WAYS,
IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY THEIR WORDS SEEM TO SAY,
LISTEN TO ME PLEASE, LOOK CLOSE BUT BE MOST KIND.
MY STORY TO YOU I TELL SO READ BETWEEN THE LINES.
