Doubt, Buddha, and Me

Hey Doubt, you hold me in fascination
Watching you move in your far-away world
I carved a stone Buddha, his restraint yours
Your heady intelligence, his new dharma
The smile on his face was incomplete
And so I carved him your sunlit eyes, half open
Your silent mischief and his ancient wisdom
Didn’t quite know how to vie for equal space
And so I gave him a little of your thoughts,
Holding back a little of you that is all mine
As mysteries unravel, and life unwinds
I carved Buddha attributes on a dark angel
Life will go on parallel, yours and mine
Intersecting moments we seldom fathom
Times when life dances formless and abstract
Love in abstraction, not the people we are…

Words from your own personal journey in life, observations take on an open interpretation for the reader and as I see the complexities of light and shade, of peace and doubt, and bring my own complexities there is a freedom of understanding and expression which takes on a life of its own,,,,,,,times when life dances formless and abstract. A gift from the poet, Thank you. |

An interesting read. Many of the lines provide a fascinating insight into the journey of one's possible spiritual self. Wonderful poem!
