Descent
An uncanny madness bent the course of light from heaven that day-
The shaft impaled my undefended ego,
And pinned me forever to the chair.
From some dimension, sounds breached the void-
Staccato voices, a crying child, cartoons on the television
And the whining clicks of a camera.
I looked down, just to be certain.
There was no mistake.
I was holding the lifeless body of my infant grandson
Just for one surreal moment
Before I abstracted
Fractured
Vanished

Very strong emotion. A tragic feeling - so well expressed. |
