The Blood Blossom

Contributed by ForeverAlone on Thursday, 7th March 2013 @ 09:13:09 PM in AEST
Topic: abstract

You ever just stared into the sky, waiting for the clouds to magically bloom in reverse? An anticlimactic return to nothing. A disappointing end to this ever long list of exciting events? For some...

Maybe the sky turns slightly off kilter gray and seems as if this ceiling is going to come crashing down. No wind, no loud noise, no screams, no alarms, no beckoning howls. No biblical stories or prophecies unfold. Just a beautiful end?

All as if the space around us decided this organic living creature was a cancerous cell. Tunnel vision and darkness, no warmth, no sun, no air to breathe. A stale and stagnant cold overtakes the view. Birds don't fly, flowers don't bloom...

No harmony, no melody, no rhythm, no balance, the moon doesn't offset the tide... What was once brought into existence with a large bang now finds itself going out with less than a whisper. No open casket, no last ride, just a deep and dark final breath.

Imagine the beautiful funeral to capture all the love, bottled and reduced into tiny tiny bits. A melancholy cocktail of just not enough positivity... Not enough drugs to overcome, and not enough honesty to believe. Just death. Just the end. Just nothing at all.

A blanket of bitter darkness, A quiet resentment of reticence.

And the sun comes out...?

You had said you weren't a professional writer and this was your best poem. Honestly, it is a gem. You have a talent for words that is very uncommon. Not really knowing much regarding poetry I can say this is one that would make one want to read more. I suppose they call it professional when one gets paid. I've often wondered about poets and the really great ones who never made much but kept at it. I guess it's a living of life what ever ones fate.
Forget to begot --- begin as each is conjured by itself alone.

Peace!

the whole poem is beautiful, but these lines to me are the best::
No harmony, no melody, no rhythm, no balance, the moon doesn't
offset the tide... What was once brought into existence with a large
bang now finds itself going out with less than a whisper. No open
casket, no last ride, just a deep and dark final breath.
...if then the
sun does come out- what? its like the sound a tree makes when it
falls in the forest- if no one is there to hear it does it make a sound::
...an exquisitely marvelous write!

hugs n' love nessa
